Environmental

Everyone has to accept responsibility for the state of our environment and in doing so we need to take advantage of every technological breakthrough or advance in methodology to help.

Precision liquid banding of fertilizers in conjunction with advanced no-till practices is helping greatly in combating soil degradation and reducing the use of fuel.

How is this so? Single pass sowing systems are now available in which pre emergent spray, liquid fertilizers, trace elements, fungicides and other products are being applied by the one unit in one operation!

Such systems save enormous amounts of fuel because traditionally, pre emergent sprays were applied separately, thus requiring another operation altogether. There are also obvious financial rewards in adaptation of single pass systems.

There is a safety aspect also associated with banding liquids. Applying fungicides to traditional fertilizer products has always been a distasteful and potentially hazardous task. Liquid is ideal as the carrier for fungicides.

Liquid fungicides, which are normally safer to handle than powdered fungicides, can be injected into the liquid carrier and deposited into the plant root zone with extreme accuracy.

Whichever way you look at it liquids are a far superior medium. They are more convenient to handle, they are better to store, they are far easier to control and apply and they offer the potential to help in our fight to not only sustain a viable farming industry but to improve our environment.
